Elon Musk is having a hard time figuring out what caused last week’s SpaceX explosion

And he needs your help to figure it out.

Last week, a SpaceX Falcon rocket exploded during a routine operation ahead of a scheduled launch of a satellite that, among other things, would help Facebook’s Internet.org program.

People (read: Mark Zuckerberg and the owners of the satellite) were not happy.

Since then, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his team have been trying to figure out what, exactly, happened. Turns out rocket science is pretty complicated.

They just can’t figure out what happened. For a company that has ambitions to go to Mars by 2018, let’s just say it’s pretty important to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is where you come in.

Both Musk and SpaceX are looking for any images, audio or video recordings of the explosion last week to help them figure out what caused this “anomaly.”

So if you happened to be in the area, just hanging at Cape Canaveral on a Thursday morning, maybe shoot Musk a message.
