Here’s the Goldman Sachs Silicon Valley hotlist, 2016 edition

Slack, BuzzFeed, Giphy and others.

Later this month, Goldman Sachs will lure some of Silicon Valley’s most influential investors to the Bellagio in Las Vegas for its annual off-the-record internet conference, a chance for attendees to hear from some of tech’s buzziest CEOs and for Goldman to boost its reputation with the west coast tech crowd.

The event provides a glimpse into which startups and industries Goldman finds fascinating — the speaker list is usually an indication of what and who is hot right now. As my colleague Peter Kafka explained last year: “The companies Goldman asks to come onstage are either the ones it thinks are most promising, or the ones it would like to land as clients, or some combination.”

In other words: Companies worth paying attention to.

Code Enterprise Series returns to San Francisco November 14-15, 2016

All about work, work, work and also work.

So here’s the list of speakers, courtesy of numerous attendees. The event kicks off on Nov. 16, and the keynote speakers — BuzzFeed’s Jonah Peretti, venture capitalist Marc Andreessen and Slack’s Stewart Butterfield — are set to speak on Nov 17.

(For those keeping score at home, of the 26 people listed on the agenda, only one is a woman: Goldman Sachs Managing Director Liz Milonopoulos.)
